#FITINTHATKIT: Day 1 And What It Means To Me.

I have a goal, through cycling, eating healthier, I vow to transform my body over the next year…  Right now I'm sitting at 330lbs of whoop whoop yahoo, according to Brett Tippie.  And I really have been looking for something as a catalyst, something that could make me hold my goals, and give me something to work towards.

First off, or second off, there is so much RAD stuff going on out in LA, the cycling community out there is so lush and full of life, and really if it wasn't for social media I wouldn't know on the East Coast.  So a couple of years ago I started reading Tracko, Prolly Is Not Probably (now the Radavist) and some other great sites.  Imagery really captures my attention it gives me a sense of adventure, something that the last few years of "road work" hasn't really got me through (think terrible eating habits).  After getting back into the bike industry two years ago (something I left stupidly almost a decade ago) I was pretty happy with how things could go, but still didn't really have that spark to sit down, seriously debate things, and then put them into action.  Fast forward a bit to Interbike this year, you know the tradeshow that almost everyone in the industry loves to hate (or something like that).  I happened to meet Kyle from Tracko, and Sean from Team Dream Team I explained how they got me stoked on riding again no really, really stoked on riding again, we chatted a bit and then the next morning first thing these two smiling dudes greeted me and started my day off right.  That really stuck with me over the last couple weeks… Yesterday I was sitting around and catching up on some reading and I came across this…  This is one of those kits that just absolutely spoke to me, call it remembering highschool and grade school listening to The Grateful Dead, The Doors, and remember the size I was then, the length of rides I could actually go out and enjoy, and most importantly when I started cycling.  So long story moderately shorter, its time for a change, time to #FITINTHATKIT, along the way I will be rewarding myself, and also challenging myself with some races, and even next year around this time a cross race for the good ol days.  Anyhow I emailed Kyle and apparently this this is going to happen and I couldn't be more stoked. So yep I am dropping weight to wear a jersey, this might sounds nuts, but everyone needs their catalyst.

I have a target weight of 200-220lbs ( around 100-130lbs weight loss).  According to a friend of mine who happens to be a doctor this is something that is completely attainable within a year without any crazy effects on my skin, or health.  I will reach my goals by eating lots of greens, fruit, skipping the cream in my coffee, eliminating soda, and controlling portions.  Exercise daily, as well as riding, and on the days where I simply cannot make it out extreme portion control.

Thanks, Kyle and Sean, Golden Saddle Cyclery and Endocustoms… You all fucking rock!!!

dinner, I ate the hat, and drank the green
