LONG TERM TEST: ROCK SHOX DOMAIN 318

Specs: 180mm travel, 1.5 head tube, 20mm maxle. Price: $575.00 There's really a lot of options these days when it comes to the 180mm fork market. Offerings from Marzocchi, Rock Shox and very recently Fox, have really given riders a lot more to choose from. On the lower end of the price spectrum, there's really only two options: The Rock Shox Domain 318 and the Marzocchi 66 RCV. Last year, when I was finally fed up with my useless Manitou Sherman, I opted for the Domain. The first thing I noticed was the ease of tuning. Preload and rebound damping were only slightly altered from their stock settings before I was entirely happy with them. 2013 RaceFace Mud Crutch review

Installation was super simple For 2013 RaceFace updated and re-released their mud crutch, this new version uses a mylar construction of laced woven elastic, instead of neoprene. Lets be honest, I don't live in England, I have however become over joyed with riding. The past few days I have ridden back to back. Sixty degree highs have melted most of the snow and caused some rather sloppy conditions. Normally I would say not to ride, but these trails drain well and are not damaged by mountain bikers who ride them in adverse conditions. My first ride without the mud crutch resulted in me being completely covered in mud all over my face even with a crud guard on the downtube. I decided that the best test would be to go back out and get rowdy in the mud. I rode some trails that are a bit more local to me, which don't get nearly as muddy as the other ones. #RADBIKEOFTHEDAY-Jason's Salsa Cycles Warbird Carbon

Jason and I have been talking about a bike for a long time that isn't a slouch on the road, but can still fit really large tires, and is still extremely comfortable. That's a lot to ask of a bike, and Salsa knocked it out of the park with this bike. With through axles front and rear this bike is stiff under pedaling, but has fantastic compliance vertically, thanks to the class 5 VRS system that Salsa developed. I really don't think there is a gravel bike with such great tech out there right now. No fancy shake weight style suspension, no micro dampeners courtesy of soft tail tech from yesteryear, and most importantly none of those dumb ass Zertz inserts, because fuck that shit. Having spent some time on the Warbird it feels like a road bike when it needs to, and can handle some fairly gnarly off road stuff.
